Chris Szczech Bio

A producer, engineer, multi-instrumentalist and life-long musician, Chris Szczech is music's Swiss army knife. Beginning his career as an intern at Sonora Recorders in Los Angeles, Szczech quickly rose the ranks to become an assistant engineer. From there, he left to hone his craft alongside legendary record producer Rob Schnapf (Elliot Smith), engineering and assisting on every project and mix the two collaborated on. In 2017, he then became an engineer for Warner Bros. Records, where he worked with some of music’s hottest names including Ciara, Kai, Laura Marano, Benny Cassette and more.

For over a decade, Szcech has remained in high demand while engineering music for a diverse spectrum of artists, from A.A Bondy to Tiana Major9 on her Grammy nominated song “Collide”. He’s lended his talents to numerous records by Goo Goo Dolls including their 12th studio LP Miracle Pill(2019), and not only engineered but mixed both their live albumThe Audience is This Way (2018) and their latest holiday recordIt’s Christmas All Over (2020). Last year, he produced, mixed and performed multiple instruments on Isobel Campbell’s momentous LP There Is No Other, her first solo record in 14 years which was named Rough Trade’s album of the month and included on their year end list.
